Strengthening Messaging and Diversifying the Grants Pipeline for Conservation and Environmental Organizations
A well-established pair of sister 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations based in the U.S. South and focused on conservation and environmental issues with a strong track record of grant success approached us with a clear-eyed understanding of a looming challenge: while they had secured substantial support over the years, their funding portfolio remained concentrated among a small group of long-time funders.
Their Executive Director recognized the vulnerability this posed and partnered with us to take a proactive approach to diversifying their grant revenue. We began with a comprehensive funder landscape analysis to identify aligned, high-potential prospects and paired that research with strategic messaging support to help refine how the organization was positioning its work to new audiences.
To support this outreach, we created a suite of tailored collateral—including a two-pager, a compelling case for support, and a visually engaging pitch deck—all designed to tighten and elevate their messaging for prospective funders. These tools helped the organization communicate its impact, strategy, and vision with greater clarity and confidence.
From there, we supported outreach planning, relationship development, and grant calendar coordination—laying the groundwork for a broader and more resilient funder network. Today, we continue to work alongside them to project manage their grant-seeking efforts: tracking deadlines, guiding narrative development, and ensuring a steady rhythm of communication and submissions. By investing in both their messaging and their pipeline, the organization has built a more stable foundation for long-term growth—one that reflects both their legacy and their evolving vision for impact.
